Fresh Lions Mane Mushroom

Lions Mane: it's the mushroom everyone is talking about at the minute. The most well known of the 'medicinal' mushrooms due to it's reported benefits on concentration, mood and brain health, it's being sold as a supplement in different forms such as powders, tinctures and gummies. But many people don't know it's also a fantastic mushroom to cook with in its natural, fresh state. 

It's juicy, dense and meaty with a texture that is extremely similar to meat when cooked. Kept in large whole pieces it can be marinated, pressed and fried like a steak (see Derek Sarno's videos) or can be finely shredded and pulled to replicate lobster or crab meat. Some top chef's are doing some really interesting things with Lion's Mane at the moment and now you can too! 

Unlike the stuff in the supplements that could be sourced from the other side of the world, our Lions Mane is grown by us right here in Leeds. From spore to mushroom we undertake the complete growing process, which takes about 6 weeks and finishes with us harvesting the Lions Mane by hand when it's perfectly ripe. 

You can purchase our Lions Mane in three sizes. For reference a 250g portion would provide you with a large 'steak' sized piece that would feed 1-2 people.

We are part of a local food movement and believe fresh produce should not be sent in the post and so currently this product is available for collection only - we are based 1 mile outside Leeds City Centre (LS9 9LF). Our Lions Mane is also available at lots of greengrocers in and around Leeds including Headingley, Chapel Allerton and Otley and hopefully this will expand to other areas in future!
