YME log kits are a great way of bringing edible fungi into your garden! Using this kit you will be able to cultivate the selected fungus on a hardwood log and harvest edible mushrooms. Our kits come in a range of species, each containing comprehensive instructions and all you need to inoculate 2 hardwood logs. (logs not included).

The inoculated log will take 6 - 12 months to develop and can then produce crops of mushrooms every 6 – 12 months. Logs can keep producing for up to 8 years!

Loved the outer packaging, and the inside of the kit gives you everything you need to start growing mushrooms outdoors on logs. There ‘s enough dowels in the kit to do 2 good sized logs, and the extensive instructions mean you can’t go wrong. Inoculated my logs 3 months ago and am now starting to see mycelium growing on the cut ends of the log. Looking forward to my mushrooms growing next year!

Having trouble getting suitable wood and also did not realise the mushrooms would take so long to produce. The chestnut mushrooms are doing fine though.
